Terms of Use — Smart Security Camera
Draft for review, 2026. Plain-language terms for the private beta; a lawyer's pass will follow before the public launch.
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover the Smart Security Camera apps for Windows and Android (later iPhone) and the optional sign-in and live-view service at smart-security-camera.com, run by Moshe Nahari ("we"). By installing an app or signing in you agree to them. The privacy policy says what data is handled and is part of these terms.
2. Your recordings are yours
Everything the Windows app records, detects and describes stays on your PC, and anything you choose to upload goes to a cloud account you own. We do not receive, store or have access to your video, pictures, recordings or history, and we claim no rights over them.
3. The optional service
Signing in creates an account on our service so your phones can find your cameras, watch them through an end-to-end encrypted relay, receive notifications and share access with people you invite. The service keeps the account and device information listed in the privacy policy and no media. Per account it allows up to 5 PCs, 20 cameras, 10 members per camera, 10 signed-in devices and 10 pending invites. We may suspend or delete an account that is used to abuse the service, to attack it, or to break the law, and we may change or discontinue the service with reasonable notice; your PC keeps working on its own in every case. You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings, which removes everything the service holds about you.
4. Lawful and respectful use
You are responsible for where you point a camera and for whom you record. Laws on recording people, sound and private spaces differ by country; where the law requires it, you must tell people that they are being recorded and obtain any consent needed. Do not use the apps to watch anyone who has not agreed to it, and do not share a camera with someone who should not see it.
5. Optional AI features
AI descriptions, rules, questions and digests run only when you add your own Anthropic API key and set a monthly budget. What is sent (a few still frames and short text per event) goes from your PC to Anthropic under your own account and Anthropic's terms; we are not a party to that. AI output can be wrong and is marked as such in the app; do not rely on it for safety-critical decisions.
6. Beta software, no warranty
During the beta the apps and the service are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, including uninterrupted operation, that every event will be detected, or that a notification will arrive in time. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the apps or the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Accounts with other providers
Google, Microsoft and Apple sign-in, and Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and iCloud storage, are services of those companies under their own terms. We only receive a signed proof of who you are at sign-in, and never your passwords or your provider tokens.
8. Changes
We may update these terms when the apps or the service change; the date at the top is the version you are reading. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
[To be completed: governing law and venue.]
